AP govt holds Grama Sabhas to finalise Rs 4500 cr works
Vijayawada: Andhra Pradesh government held Grama Sabhas across 13,326 panchayats to finalise employment related works worth Rs 4,500 crore.
This was the first big exercise by the TDP-led NDA government in the State to connect with the general public at the grass roots for effective implementation of MGNREGA works. Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister K Pawan Kalyan and several other Ministers, elected representatives and officials participated in the Grama Sabhas attended by over one crore people. Speaking on the occasion, Naidu said at a meeting at Vanapally village in Kothapeta mandal of Dr. BR Ambedkar Konaseema district, that the grama sabhas were proposed to adopt resolutions by the people for works worth Rs.4,500 crore.
